1. I'm having trouble unplugging the microphones from the Plexer.
When new, the microphone connectors can be sticky. They should loosen
up over time. If you have a hard time removing a connector, don't push
and pull harder! Try pushing the connector back in all the way, and
then very lightly pressing on the release latch. The connector should then release.
2. Why aren't the Velcro cable wraps captive on the cables?
The wire wraps are "hook & loop" type. If you want to attach them
to the cable, wrap the Velcro around one section of the cable, fuzzy
side out, and push the end through the slot in the wrap. Pull tight.
3. What does the "NORM/BYPASS" jumper inside the Plexer do?
To save battery life, the D2 Plexer will go into a low-power sleep mode
if the microphone position is not changed for 10 minutes. If you want
to disable this mode and keep power on, select the BYPASS position.
This also acts as a emergency position in case a malfunction in the
powersave circuit prevents the Plexer from powering up.
4. What connectors and cables do you recommend for cinema testing?
A versatile setup is a BNC to BNC cable with a BNC->1/4" phone plug
adaptor on one end and a BNC->Stacking pins connector on the other.
With two of these combinations, you can do most A-chain tasks. Add a 4"
stacking pin jumper for cell uniformity testing. See the Accessories section.
